Between September 14-17, 2018 the Case Solvers and the Corvinus University of Budapest hosted the Solvers’ Cup international case study competition. GTK members were also invited to the competition based on their results on previous international case competitions. Thereby GTK students had the opportunity to compete with the teams representing British, Canadian, Hungarian, German, Austrian, Serbian and Slovenian universities.
The case study of the first qualification round was offered by the Budapest Transport Company (BKK), while the case of the second round was delivered by OTP Bank. The 12 teams competed in three qualifying groups for the final each group winner having the possibility to compete in the final round of the competition. GTK members have performed well during the group stages, winning the first round, and ranking second in the group after the second qualifying round of the competition.
Our semi-final group has been won by the team representing the Lazaridis University in Canada, who have later won the final of the competition as well.
