GTK members at the KICC global final
Between April 13-16, 2015 KPMG, one of the leading audit, tax and business advisory companies in the world, organized its annual KPMG International Case Competition (KICC). This year, the international final of the competition was held in Dubai, where 28 teams representing different countries competed against each other. Romania was represented by a team composed of four GTK Business Consulting Club members: Guttmann Csongor, Kovács Anita, Német Hunor and Székely Rita.
In each round the competing teams had to solve a case study focusing on Emirates, a Dubai based luxury airline. The first case concentrated on the main risks associated with the airline industry, while the second one required the presentation of a long-term sustainable strategy for Emirates. The three teams qualified in the final round, representing Spain, UK and Sweden, had to identify the main stakeholders and the effect of their strategy on these stakeholders. The final presentations where held at Emirates headquarters in front of 22 judges and all the other participating teams. Each team had the right to place one vote. The winner of the 2015 KPMG International Case Competition was the team representing Sweden.
Beyond the competition rounds, during the four days the participants had the opportunity to visit the city and the desert, learn more about Emirates and connect with fellow competitors from all around the world.
