Success at the 18th National Case Study Competition in Budapest
Between the 11th and 13th of March, 2017 the 18th National Case Study Competition was held in Budapest, organized by the Corvinus University of Budapest and the EVK College for Advanced Studies. For the first time, this year the international competition was organized with two rounds and every university could delegate three teams.
After the online round 16 teams could participate in the highly ranked event, from which three teams represented the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the Babeș–Bolyai University and in the same time the GTK Business Consulting Club. These teams by name were: team Synergy (Éltes Rita, Deák Levente, Deák Péter and Kiss Alpár), team 4Tune (Dibernardo Attila, Fekete Réka, Nagy Loránd and Szabó László) and team Argo (Géger Gyopár, Korcsmáros Boglárka, Szabó Norbert and Tankó Attila).
The 16 participating teams have been distributed into 4 preliminary groups. This year’s case study was focused on Bátor Tábor, a children camp which returns cancer-afflicted and chronically ill children to their carefree childhoods. The teams had one and a half day to develop their solutions. Four teams qualified to the final round, one of them was team Synergy of Cluj-Napoca, which won the competition.
The results of the competition are:
I. place: Babeș–Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca
II. place: Corvinus University of Budapest
III. place: Budapest University of Technology and Economics
IV. place: University of Szeged
