Participation of GTK students on the final round of Harvard’s case study competition
The final round of the Harvard International Consulting Competition, an international multi-school case competition organized at Harvard University took place on April 22, 2017 in Cambridge, MA. Based on the results of the preliminary round 24 teams qualified from 19 different business schools, among them the team of GTK – Business Consulting Club. The task of the teams in the final was to develop a growth strategy for Shideido, a Japan-based global cosmetics company, and present their solutions in front of a jury composed of representatives of the business sector.
The final of the competition was organized at the Sheraton Commander Hotel near the main campus of Harvard University. Teams qualified to this final were representing mostly prestigious universities from the North-America, and beside a couple of Asian universities, Europe was represented by the GTK team from the Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca. The competition was opened by a speech delivered by the senior vice president of the case company, Mr. Vidur Bhandari, which was followed by the presentations of the competing teams in four groups of six teams each, with the team delivering the best performance in each group qualifying to the grand final of the competition.
The GTK team delivered an honorable performance competing with teams representing the leading universities of the world, but did not qualify to the grand final. The final result of the competition:
