A GTK member wins the „Case Solver of the Year” Competition

On the 4th of May, 2017 Case Solvers and Vialto Consulting organized the fourth edition of the“Case Solver of the Year” Competition in Budapest. The competition hosts university students with the best aggregate results achieved in the last year on Hungary’s most prestigious case study competitions. Based on their total points, four members of the GTK – Business Consulting Club have qualified to take part in this year`s competition among the 12 most highly placed students on the Case Solver of the Year Ranking. The four qualified students were Éltes Rita (Management, 2nd year), Géger Gyopár (Marketing, 2nd year), Deák Levente (Finance and banking, 3rd year) and Deák Péter (Business informatics, 2nd year).

Participants were grouped into four teams during the finals, having the task to develop strategic solutionsforENKSZ (First National Utility Provider). The competition had three rounds and one team dropped out at the end of every round. In the first round, participants had to present their case analysis, followed bya decision tree with a scoring system in the second round that contained alternative solutions to the main challenge of the company.During the last round the two remaining teams had to develop one of their solution alternatives in detail.

The end results of this competition were also taken into consideration to establish the final list for the Case Solver of the Year Ranking. The team of GégerGyopár was ranked fourth, Éltes Rita won third place with her team, while Deák Levente was member of the team that won the second place of the competition.

GTK member, Deák Péter was member of the winningteam of this competition, and together with the points gathered during previous case study competitions he became the Case Solver of the Year in 2017. Congratulations for this outstanding achievement!
