Team GTK at the international case competition Solvers’ Cup 2017
On September 15-18, 2017 Budapest hosted the Solvers’ Cup 2017, an international business case study competition organized by Case Solvers. The team representing the Babeș-Bolyai University and the GTK – Business Consulting Club from Cluj-Napoca has also been invited to the competition. Teams from a total of 12 different countries have participated on the event, including for example the teams representing the Imperial College London, University of Cologne, London School of Economics, the Haskayne School of Business from Canada, University of Innsbruck or the St. Gallen University.
Participating team had the task to develop a future development strategy for NNG, a leading company on the global navigations solution market in the automotive industry, the manufacturer of the iGO system. Teams had one day at their disposal to develop their solutions to the case. Competing teams were grouped into three different groups of four teams each by the organizers, the best team in each group qualifying later to the final round of the competition. Team Cluj has competed in the same group with the teams from St. Gallen (Switzerland), Budapest (Hungary) and Prague (Czech Republic). The team from Cluj did not succeed to qualify to the final, the solution of Team Budapest being the most highly evaluated by the jury formed of company managers and university professors.
The members of Team Cluj were: Péter Deák (2. year, Business Informatics), Rita Éltes (2. year, Management), Gyopár Géger (2. year, Marketing) and Norbert Szabó (2. year, Finance and Banking).
The Solvers’ Cup 2017 has been won by Team Cologne, the second place went to Team Budapest, while the third place has been won by Team Belgrade. Congratulations to all competing teams!
