Participation at the 15th ESET START Competition

The 15th edition of ESET START Competition took place on November the 28th and 29th 2015. In the contest, organized by BME (Budapest Management School) in Budapest, Babes Bolyai University and the GTK Business Consulting Club was represented by the same two teams, namely ConsulTeam, with members Beatrix Csibi, Hunor Györk Nagy, Krisztina Gurzo, Edina Katona, and the OkayGo team composed of Éva Boros, Aba Borzasi, Péter Deak and Attila Dibernardo.

The assignment in the semifinals was the development of a marketing strategy for the Hungarian Telekom company in order to raise the number of recruits and gain more manpower. The challenge was interesting and educational not only because it was a real-life problem but also, due to the fact thatsome jury members actually worked on the project. The teams had 90 minutes to complete the task and prepare the flipchart presentation, after which they had 7 minutes to present their ideas and 3 more minutes for the jury to ask questions. Even though the two teams showed great potential, they did not manage to get into the finals. Nonetheless, it was a great learning experience even more so since after the award ceremony participants had theopportunity to personally ask jury membersfor feedback to further hone their knowledge and have a better chance next time they participate.
