Excellent results at the Cluj-Napoca Case Study Competition

Between the 16th and 20th of April, the Cluj-Napoca Student Case Study Competition took place for the 17th time, being organized by the Hungarian Department of Economics and Business Administration of the Babeș-Bolyai University and the Pro Oeconomica Association. The competition is part of the Case Study Days in Cluj together with the Business Consulting Competition for High-School Students. The members of BCC achieved excellent results at this year’s competition.

14 teams have applied to take part in the competition. They had approximately three days to give a complete solution for the problems presented in the received case study. The case presented the current situation and the future challenges of Romchemicals Ltd, the main task being how to increase the volume of sales. The presentations took place on the 20th of April in three groups in front of a jury formed by acknowledged business professionals from several companies. The members of the jury represented successful and well-known companies such as OTP Bank Romania, AAM Consulting, Antares Romania, Bibas Group, Deloitte Romania, East Consulting, Grid CEE Consulting, Heal Partners, msg Systems Romania, Tipoholding.

Three teams have been selected by the jury to compete in the finals of the competition where the presentations were open for the public. The final results of the competition:

  • 1st place : team Sirius (Ábrahám Krisztina, Csorvási Endre, Ferencz Hunor, Imrea Beáta)
  • 2nd place: team Reneszánsz (Benkő Zsolt, Dorner Boglárka–Tamara, Farkas Csongor, Szőcs Kinga–Beáta)
  • 3rd place: team KGK-sokk (Balázs Annamária, Csiszér Albert, Kerekes Boróka, László Tamás)

From the BCC members Ábrahám Krisztina and Ferencz Hunor have won 1st place with their team, Benkő Zsolt, Dorner Boglárka–Tamara, Farkas Csongor and Szőcs Kinga–Beáta have reached 2nd place with their team, Demeter Zselyke, Furdek Balázs, Rákóczi Roland and Salamon Ádám received diplomas of mention with their team and Kristály Csaba also participated in the competition with his team.
