Participation on the MCC-Citibank Summer Academy 2013
Between the 5th and 15th of August, 2013 the MCC-Citibank Summer Academy was organized for the second time by the Mathias Corvinus Collegium in Budapest. The topic of the summer academy was International Development. 36 people from 19 countries participated on the event. Romania was represented by 3 GTK – Business Consulting Club members: Csilla Ábrán, Csongor Guttmann and Krisztián Székely.
During the first week of the summer academy there were presentations held by UN representatives, academics, and researchers on the topic of international development, energy issues in emerging countries, BRICS and poverty.
During the second week, participants had to work in groups to solve a case study and prepare a thesis on one of the topics given by the organisers.During case study solving participants had to come up with a strategy for a bank planning to outsource some of its main activities.The team with the best solution considered by the jury had a GTK member in its composition.
The summer academy gave all participants the possibility to interact with people from other cultures, to discover the city of Budapest and to gain a comprehensive knowledge about international development in emerging countries.
