Qualification in the final round and 3rd place at the case study competition in Pécs
On 13-15 October, 2013 the University of Pécs, Hungary hosted the sixth edition of the “Dr. Papp László” Case Study Competition in Accounting. This year the competition had a total number of 17 participating teams representing Hungarian and foreign universities. The Babeş-Bolyai University and the Department of Economics and Business Administration in Hungarian Language was represented by 3 teams, who achieved excellent results: two of the three particiapting teams have qualified to the final round, one of these teams winning the III. place of the competition. A total of 9 BCC members participated in the work of the three teams representing our university.
Final results of the competition:
- I. place: University of Pécs, Hungary (team G&A)
- II. place: University of Pécs, Hungary (team Insight)
- III. place: Babeş-Bolyai University (team Sirius – Ábrahám Krisztina, Csorvási Endre, Gáspár Barna-Szabolcs, Imrea Beáta)
The two teams that also qualified for the final round:
- Babeş-Bolyai University (Qualiteam – Demeter Zselyke, Dombi Tünde, Kovács Anita, Székely Rita)
- University of Miskolc, Hungary (team Csillagvirágok)
Team Lotus (Ábrán Csilla-Hajnalka, Czirják Renáta-Hajnalka, Furdek Balázs, Rákóczi Roland), the third team representing our university has also participated to this competition.
Based on the case study of the competition the participating teams had to develop a complex controlling system for a company operating in the tourism and hospitality industry.
The performance of the teams from Cluj-Napoca is even more valuable as this edition was altogether the fifth year in which at least one team representing the Babeş-Bolyai University from Cluj-Napoca has earned a place on the podium of the competition.
