Success on the Case Study Solver of the Year Competition
On the 14th of June, 2014 the HBCS (Hungarian Business Case Society) and the Vialto Consulting organized for the first time the Case Study Solver of the Year Competition, in Budapest. Based on the results of nine case study competitions from the 2013-2014 season the organizers selected the twelve best case study solvers of the Carpathian Basin for a last showdown in the season. Among the selected twelve were two members of the GTK: Krisztina Ábrahám and Zselyke Demeter.
The competition consisted of two rounds. In the firs round the competitors were asked to examine the actual business model of the Gránit Bank, and to develop an expansion strategy for the future. The task was to be solved individually, with a three day deadline. In the second round three teams were randomly formed from the competitors, on the spot. The teams had four hours to merge their individual ideas into a consistent corporate strategy, which they had to present to the jury afterward. After the presentations, the team ranking decided by the jury was the following:
1. Marcell Bozsik (ELTE), Zselyke Demeter (BBTE), Ágnes Kemény (PTK), Tamás Rolek (BME)
2. Krisztina Ábrahám (BBTE), Dávid Keresztes (PTKE), Barna Szabó (CEU), Dávid Keresztes (PTKE), ZsófiaPapp (BME)
