I. place at the 13th Tímár László Case Study Competition

On 22-24 February 2014 the Pannon University of Veszprém organized the 13th Tímár László Case Study Competition. This year the representatives of non-local universities had the opportunity to present their solution live in front of the jury. The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the Babeș-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca was represented by the Prometheus team, who won the first place of the competetion, and Demeter Zselyke received a special award for the best foreign presenter.

The winning team was composed of Demeter Zselyke, Kerekes Zsuzsa, Kiss Alpár and Kovács Anita, all GTK – Business Consulting Club members.

The teams had 24 hours to solve the case and submit it afterwards in the form of a PowerPoint presentation and a managerial report. The qualifications and the final round of the competition took place on the 24th of February. The invited teams had their own group, and were competing against each other. The case was based on a multiple technical failure at a Hungarian nitric acid production plant. The challenge was to minimize the risk of future failures by redesigning the maintenance system.
