GTK students’ excellent performance at the German management case competition organized for MsC students
A team of students 4 students representing the Babeș-Bolyai University, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and the GTK Business Consulting Club have measured their knowledge in an extremely competitive international field. The team consisted of Barabási Tamás (Business management MA, I. year), Borsos András (Corporate financial management, MA, I. year) Jakó Zsolt (Corporate financial management, MA, I. year) and Kelemen Kincső (Business management MA, II. year). The competition for MA students was organized by University of Münster.
The international case competition was organized between the 21st and 23rd of October 2020 by the student organization, University of Münster Case Club. 16 student teams attended the competition, representing prestigious universities worldwide. The teams competed in four different divisions; the winners of these divisions competed against each other in the finals. The competition consisted of a
4-hour round and a 10-hour round of case solving.
In the first round the teams had to come up with an expansion strategy for a green last-mile delivery service, Liefergrün, while in the 10-hour round they had to come up with some ideas for an educational platform, edyoucated, to enter the consulting industry successfully. The team representing UBB and GTK managed to secure third place in their division during both rounds. The team that qualified from their division was University of Chulalongkorn.
The winner of the competition was the team of Nanyang Technological University from Singapore, the team Smith School of Business at Queen’s University from Canada finished second, while University of Chulalongkorn finished third.
