Participation on the international case study competition in Washington D.C.
A team of four GTK students had the chance to compete with 17 of the highest ranked universities at the international case competition organized by Georgetown University in Washington D.C., USA. The team composed of Kinga-Réka Ábrán (Finance and Banking, 3rd year), Ferenc Domokos (Management, 3rd year), Kende-Ferenc Pásztor (Management, 2nd year) and Dóra Szőke (Management, 2nd year) delivered an excellent performance on the international stage. Congratulations to our students!
This year the McDonough Business Strategy Challange had taken place in an online format between 1-5th February, 2022. Altogether 18 world-class universities participated in the competition, from America, Europe, Asia and Australia. Only 3 universities were selected from Europe, one of which was the team of the GTK – Business Consulting Club and the Babeș-Bolyai University. The students faced the challenge of formulating and working out a comprehensive strategy for GoodProjects, an Amercian non-profit organization fighting poverty.
The team from Cluj-Napoca had presented a high-quality solution to the jury, but the qualification to the finals were unfortunately cut short after a highly competitive group stage. The final results of the competition were as follows:
- place: University of Toronto (Canada)
- place: Maastricht University (Netherlands)
III. place: Singapore Management University (Singapore)
Honored: Stetson University (United States of America)
Group Runner-Ups: Emory University, University of Calgary, City University of Hong Kong, George Washington University
The team from Cluj-Napoca was mentored by dr. Levente Szász, dr. Györfy Lehel-Zoltán and dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz.
