GTK students participated at a debate

On 24th March 2022, GTK students participated in the first live debate of the year. The motion of the debate was “Nuclear weapons must be disarmed globally”. Participants engaged in an exchange of ideas in the style of British parliamentary debates. The students presented a number of compelling and relevant arguments on this topic, but also discussed the current conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the potential dangers it poses. Arguments included the link between defence industry development and science, the fact that nuclear weapons could be a key to peace, but also that nuclear weapons could be a potential for dramatic consequences.
