Participation of our students on the international case competition hosted by Maastricht University
During May 15-21, 2022, GTK – Business Consulting Club students, representing the Babeș-Bolyai University, had the chance to participate on the “International Case Competition @ Maastricht”, where altogether 16 student teams took part representing prestigious universities from the European, American and Asian continent. Competing in a difficult group, together with the Copenhagen Business School from Denmark, Queens University – Smith School of Business from Canada, and St. Gallen University from Switzerland, our students delivered an honorable performance: they have placed on the third place of the group in each round of the competition.
During the one week competition, participating teams had to solve three business cases, having 4 hours at their disposal in the first two rounds, and 24 hours during the third round. The first two rounds had a weight of 20-20%, while the long case had a 60% weight in the final score. Students from Cluj have performed well in each round, but the group has been won by the students representing the Copenhagen Business School, who have therefore qualified to the final, ultimately winning the whole competition. The official podium of the competition:
- place: Copenhagen Business School (Denmark)
- place: Maastricht University – School of Business and Economics (Netherlands)
III. place: National University of Singapore (Singapore)
Members of the team from Cluj were András-Gergely Csenteri (Business information systems, 3rd year), Ferenc Domokos (Management, 3rd year), Kende-Ferenc Pásztor (Management, 2nd year) and Szőke Dóra (Management, 2nd year) voltak. Team coordinators were Levente Szász, Lehel-Zoltán Györfy and Béla-Gergely Rácz.
Congratulations to our students and their advisors for their results!
