Excellent performance at the NIBS International Business Simulation Competition!

Excellent performance at the NIBS International Business Simulation Competition!

The GTK team consisting of Zsófia Albert (Banking and Finance, 2nd year), Ákos Erőss (Management, 2nd year), Balázs Gergely (Management, 2nd year) and Péter Zsombori (Management, 2nd year) participated in the Business Simulation Competition organised by NIBS and Ecosim, where they made in the finals among 5 teams from China, 2 from the Netherlands, 1 from Hungary and 1 from Thailand. At the end of the competition, they were placed on the 7th place.

Before reaching the final, 2 rounds were held, consisting of 4-5 decision periods. In the first round, teams had 2 days on their disposal to make their decisions, where at the end of each period they saw the current standings. In the second round and in the finals, the maximum time allowed for decisions was 1 hour. It was a very exciting and twisty competition, as it was common for teams to be last from first place or first from last place after each decision period. In addition, the team gained insight into the factors that determine the performance of a large company and was able to apply different decision strategies to achieve a higher business value. A total of 40 teams participated in the international competition, of which the top 10 teams, including the GTK team, made it to the finals.

The team’s advisor was dr. Botond Benedek.

Congratulations to the GTK team for the excellent performance!
