Second and fourth place in the most prestigious Hungarian-language case competition
Our students achieved an outstanding result at the XXIV National Case Study Competition (OEV), with two of our three teams reaching the live semi-finals in Budapest, where both of our teams made it to the top 4 finals. The second place in the top 4 finals went to our AmazonUs team, which consisted of Beatrix Farkas-Hegyi, Tekla-Andrea Hollanda, Petra-Ivett Pelger and Noémi Székely, while the Office team, consisting of Ákos Erőss, Balázs Gergely, Péter Zsombori and Márk-Andrei Dinea, finished in an equally excellent fourth place.
The XXIV National Case Study Competition (OEV), organised by the Corvinus University of Budapest and the EVK Professional College, took place between 1-3 April 2023.
This year, the international event was again organised in two rounds. After the online qualifying round, the best 12 teams advanced to the final round in Budapest, including 2 teams representing the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of Babeș-Bolyai University (Hungarian Department) and the GTK Business Consulting Club, AmazonUS and Office.
The case study was provided by MOL Group, and the participating teams had one and a half days to develop their strategy for the digital transformation of the company, which they presented in front of a jury of experienced professionals. In addition to the case studies, the organisers offered a range of activities, including a business lunch with representatives from companies such as Samsung, MOL and P&G. The competitors also had the opportunity to attend a gala dinner at the end of the event.
Four teams reached the final of the competition, of which the AmazonUS team (Petra Pelger-Ivett, Tekla-Andrea Hollanda, Beatrix Farkas-Hegyi, Noémi Székely) came in 2nd place, while the Office team (Ákos Erőss, Márk-Andrei Dinea, Balázs Gergely, Péter Zsombori) came in 4th place.
Our master team of Lucas-Matteo Apetroae, Ferenc Domokos, Ákos Györyg, and Sára Karda also participated in the qualifying round of the competition.
The coaches of the teams were dr. Lehel-Zoltán Györfy, dr. Levente Szász and dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz.
Congratulations to our teams for their excellent results!
