GTK students demonstrate their knowledge and skills in Seattle

Between April 18-22, 2023 the University of Washington hosted an international business case competition, where 12 university teams were invited based on their previous results in global competitions, including the team representing the Babeș-Bolyai University and the GTK Business Consulting Club. Our team delivered an excellent presentation in front of the US-based jury of the 2023 Global Business Case Competition, placing only slightly behind the team from the American University of Beirut, who have later won the champions’ title of the competition as well.

The team representing the Babeș-Bolyai University and GTK was made up of four students, Zsófia Albert (Finance and Banking, 2nd year), Anna Bugár (Finance and Banking, 2nd year), Márk Dinea (Finance and Banking, 2nd year), and Kende-Ferenc Pastor (Management, 3rd year). The students first had to solve a 5-hour case study for Nestlé, where the organisers formed mixed teams of students from the participating universities. The main round of the competition consisted of a 24-hour case study where the participating teams had to answer challenges related to Intel’s semiconductor manufacturing. The 12 participating universities competed in 4 groups of 3 teams. The GTK team competed against the eventual winners, the American University of Beirut and last year’s champions, the University of Porto.

The coaches of the team were dr. Levente Szász, dr. Lehel Györfy and dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz.

Congratulations for an excellent performance in a high-quality international field!
