Our students, finalists in the Management Case Study Competition of Pécs
GTK Business Consulting Club was represented by our active and alumni members at the Management Case Study Competition of Pécs in Hungary, with one of our teams achieving 4th place in the finals. The mentioned fourth place was won by the Synergetics team, whose members were Orsolya Benedek (1st year Business management master’s student), Krisztina Bokor-Tóth (alumni member, 1st year Business management master’s student), Noémi Székely (alumni member, 1st year Business management master’s student) and Ádám Zoor (1st year Business management master’s student). Our FreeThinkers team also qualified for the competition’s semifinals, consisting of Gergely Boda (active member, 2nd year in Business Information Systems), Richard Boros (active member, 1st year in Management), Mária Dénes (active member, 2nd year in Marketing) and Kata Szalontai (active member, 2nd year in Business Information Systems).
After the qualifying round of the case study competition organised by the Janus Pannonius School of Economics, 9 teams out of 16 qualified for the semifinals. The case study of the competition was for Holcim Hungary, a company dealing with building materials and aggregates, for which the teams had to propose an efficiency-enhancing, quality-preserving strategy. The teams had 24 hours to solve the case and were then divided into three semi-final groups, with the four best teams advancing to the finals. The first round was successfully completed by the Synergetics team (represented also by our alumni members), which then progressed to the finals and eventually achieved 4th place in the competition.
GTK team cordinators were dr. Levente Szász, dr. Lehel Györfy and dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz.
Congratulations to all GTK students for this exceptional performance!
