Excellent performance at the international case competition in Washington DC!

Our students have achieved excellent results in the international case study competition organised by Georgetown University in Washington DC. The four-member team: Albert Sarolta Zsófia (Finance and Banking, 3rd year), Balázs Kristóf (Business Information Systems, 3rd year), Dimén-Varga Ábel (Business Information Systems, 2nd year), Kürti Barbara (Business Information Systems, 3rd year), representing the Hungarian Institute of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of BBU and the GTK Business Consulting Club. The coaches of the GTK team were Dr. Levente Szász, Dr. Lehel-Zoltán Györfy, Dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz and Kincső Kelemen.

The McDonough Business Strategy Challenge 2024, an international case study competition organised by the McDonough School of Business, took place in Washington DC, USA, on 6-11 February. The 18 teams participating in the 2024 edition represented globally prestigious universities from the American, Asian and European continents, each with a strong economic profile. Participating teams were tasked with developing and presenting to the local jury an organisational transformation and expansion strategy for a non-profit organisation called the „Academy of Hope Adult Public Charter School”.

The students from Cluj-Napoca had a performance praised by the local judges, but their qualifying group was won by the team from the City University of Hong Kong, which after qualifying also won the grand final of the competition.
