The success of our first-year students in the final of the Modul Business Championship in Vienna!
Our students representing the Department of Economics and Business Administration in Hungarian Language of Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and the GTK Business Consulting Club brought home two awards from the international “Modul Business Championship” held in Vienna. Both first-year teams from Cluj-Napoca reached the final of the competition, where one team won a silver medal and the other received an honorable mention.
The final round of the competition took place between April 24–27, 2025, hosted by Modul University Vienna. Ten university teams from six countries advanced to the in-person final following an online Central and Eastern European qualifier. Alongside the two teams representing BBU and GTK, universities from Germany, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, and Ukraine also competed. Both of our teams performed exceptionally well against the experienced field, earning places in the grand final, where they secured second place and an honorable mention respectively.
The silver medal-winning team was composed of Balázs Burkhardt (Business Information Systems, 1st year), Adél Izsák (Finance and Banking, 1st year), and Benedek Lázár (Business Information Systems, 1st year). The team receiving the honorable mention for 4th place included Viktória Ladó (Finance and Banking, 1st year), Jázmin-Andrea Nagy (Management, 1st year), and Izolda Tóth (Management, 1st year).
During the competition, the teams were challenged to solve a case study provided by Raiffeisen Bank International within 24 hours. Their main task was to design digital tools aimed at engaging the 14–18-year-old demographic.
Our teams were coached by Dr. Levente Szász, Dr. Lehel Györfy, Dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz, and PhD student Réka Izsák.
Congratulations to our students and their mentors for this outstanding international achievement!
