Second place at the V. “Ács Antal” Case Competition in Debrecen!

The 5th “Ács Antal” Case Study Competition, organized by the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Debrecen, took place between May 15–16, 2025. Among the participants was a four-member team from the Department of Economics and Business Administration in Hungarian Language at the Babeș-Bolyai University and from the GTK Business Consulting Club, competing under the name Alpha Consulting. The team achieved an outstanding second place, its members being: Anna Bugár (1st year, Master’s in Data-Driven Management), Kata Kovács (1st year, Master’s in Data-Driven Management), Viktória Ladó (1st year, Finance and Banking) and Izolda Toth (1st year, Management).

During the event, the BBU team had the opportunity—quite uniquely—to compete against nine other teams, with students coming from seven Hungarian universities and three institutions from outside Hungary. The case study was provided by Deufol Hungary, a specialist in industrial packaging and supply chain solutions. The task involved developing a proposal for restructuring the organizational structure to support scalable and sustainable growth aligned with future business opportunities. Additionally, the teams were required to focus on the recruitment processes.

The case study was solved on-site on May 15. After receiving the written case, the teams had 10 hours to develop their solutions, followed by presentations the next day to a professional jury, along with evaluation and awards. The team representing the Department of Economics and Business Administration in Hungarian Language of BBU and the GTK earned an excellent second place.

The team was coached by Dr. Lehel-Zoltán Györfy, Dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz, and Dr. Levente Szász.

Congratulations to our memberst on this remarkable achievement!
