Our team members concluded the case study competition in Canada with a group victory!

Between October 19-24, 2025, the Rotterdam-Carleton International Case Competition (ROCA 2025) took place in Ottawa, Canada, organized by the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences and Carleton University. The undergraduate student team of the Department of Economics and Business Administration in Hungarian Language at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, also representing the GTK Business Consulting Club, delivered an outstanding performance.

The Cluj-Napoca team members were Richard Boros (3rd year, Management), Tamás Ilyés (3rd year, Management), Adél Izsák (2nd year, Finance and Banking), and Viktória Ladó (2nd year, Finance and Banking). The team was accompanied by their coach, Kincső Kelemen.

During the competition’s group rounds, participants had to solve three 6-hour case studies: In the first round, they developed a growth strategy for Wills Transfer, a logistics service provider. In the second, they proposed AI integration solutions for Croonwolter&dros, a company offering intelligent technology solutions. In the third, they created recommendations for Growcer, an agritech firm, on how to best leverage its latest acquisition.

In the third round, the team from Cluj triumphed over students from the University of Alberta (Canada), finishing third in their group overall.

The first place in the competition went to the team from Wilfrid Laurier University, Lazaridis School of Business and Economics (Canada).

The team was prepared under the guidance of Kincső Kelemen, Dr. Levente Szász, Dr. Lehel Györfy, and Dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz.

Congratulations to our students for their excellent performance and achievements!
