Second, Third, and Fourth Place at the Pécs Management Case Study Competition!

Three of our four teams — composed of active and alumni members — made it into the top 4 final of the Pécs Management Case Study Competition. The KárÁszok team (Bukur Gábor – Banking and Finance, 1st year, Jaskó Dániel-András – Management, 1st year, Szász-Péter Ádám – Business Informatics, 1st year, Zolcsák Kristóf – Business Informatics, 1st year) achieved second place, while NextMove Advisory (Dimény-Varga Ábel – Data-Driven Management, Master’s 1st year, Forró Gellért – Banking and Finance, 3rd year, Kolozsi Gergő – Data-Driven Management, Master’s 1st year, Zoványi Tamás – Banking and Finance, 3rd year) earned third place. Congratulations to our students!

Between October 25–28, four of our student teams took part in this year’s final round. Before that, all four successfully completed the online qualification round, working for one week on a case study for iWinex Ltd., a company producing and distributing desserts and vegan products — mainly fruit bars and plant-based desserts. The main challenge for the company was the decline in market share, which it sought to address through product portfolio expansion and increased brand awareness. The best-performing teams advanced to the on-site final in Pécs, where they solved a 34-hour live case on Furniture Ltd., a company active in three furniture production areas (upholstered, laminated furniture, and panel cutting). The firm aimed to strengthen its domestic and export markets, while facing key challenges such as skilled labor shortages, employee turnover, and market position consolidation.
Students were tasked with developing a strategy that ensured both business growth and the resolution of HR issues.

Based on the presentation results, three teams from Cluj reached the final, and two of them made it to the podium, proudly representing the Department of Economics and Business Administration in Hungarian Language.

The teams were coached by Dr. Györfy Lehel, Dr. Szász Levente, and Dr. Rácz Béla.

Congratulations to our students for their achievements and outstanding performance!
