The second joint international competition simulation in Cluj-Napoca with the participation of our partner university from Rotterdam!
The second edition of the international economic training program entitled “BBU-RBS Case Study Bootcamp” took place on November 27-28, 2025, as part of the collaboration between Babeș-Bolyai University (BBU) in Cluj-Napoca and Rotterdam Business School (RBS) in the Netherlands. The event was hosted by the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at BBU and aimed to simulate a real-life economic case competition, with a strong focus on experiential learning and skills development in a practical environment.
The event, in which our members also participated, offered a unique opportunity for both local and Dutch students to test themselves in solving real corporate challenges, receive valuable feedback from a professional jury, and prepare for future academic case competitions. Within the framework of the simulation, 10 student teams competed against each other – five representing BBU and five representing RBS.
The jury consisted of faculty members from both institutions, namely Hans van Oudheusden and Guus van Haastregt (RBS), as well as Kelemen Kincső and Izsák Réka (BBU). They were joined by alumni of BBU’s Faculty of Economics and Business Administration with extensive professional experience: Bokor-Tóth Krisztina, Borsos András, Bugár Anna, Dimény-Varga Ábel, Jakó Zsolt, and Pásztor Kende. We would like to thank all jury members for their high-quality professional work and for supporting the academic development of the participating students.
The organization of the competition was supported by Székely Evelin, executive director of the GTK, Lőrinczi Réka, master’s student, and Szász Levente, professor.
During the two-day event, participants worked on two case studies, with four hours allocated for each. Teams presented their solutions within a 12-minute time frame, followed by an 8-minute Q&A session during which they defended their proposals. The competition simulation provided an excellent opportunity to explore and address real economic challenges, as well as to receive valuable, personalized feedback for each participating team.
