Our students achieved a second place in their division at the international case competition of the University of Florida
Between February 8-14, 2026 the University of Florida organized the Heavener International Case Competition, bringing together a total of 16 university teams from all around the world. Based on the division draw, the team representing Babeș-Bolyai University and the GTK competed against teams from Canada, Hong Kong and the U.S. for a place in the final. Following the two-round competition, the team from Cluj-Napoca achieved an excellent second place in their division, narrowly missing qualification for the final behind the Canadian team.
The Heavener International Case Competition is considered one of the strongest business case competitions in the world, offering direct qualification to the Champions Trophy in New Zealand. A special feature of the competition is that in each round teams are given only 3–5 minutes to present their solutions, followed by an intensive 17–20-minute question-and-answer session, during which teams must defend their proposals before a jury composed of business professionals.
The team representing the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the Babeș-Bolyai University and the GTK consisted of Boros Richárd (Management, 3rd year), Fazakas Boglárka (Business Information Systems, 3rd year), Hadnagy Magor (Management, 3rd year), and Hajdó Boglárka (Business Information Systems, 3rd year). The team was accompanied to the competition by Dr. Levente Szász. The students’ training was also supported by Dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz and Dr. Lehel Györfy.
We congratulate our members on their outstanding performance in a highly competitive international field!
