The 2nd GTK Case Solving Camp was successfully held in Someșu Cald!
Between July 11–13, the GTK Case Solving Camp took place for the second time, hosted in Melegszamos. The goal of the three-day camp was to develop the professional competencies, presentation skills, and teamwork abilities of GTK’s active members through solving real-life business case studies. The program was made special by the participation of several GTK alumni, who supported the students as mentors and jury members throughout the weekend.
The camp kicked off on Friday afternoon with the arrival of the participants, followed by informal networking, conversations, and a shared dinner to set the tone for the two upcoming professional days.
Saturday morning marked the start of the camp’s academic component: students worked in teams to solve a three-hour English-language business case. Each team was paired with an alumni mentor, who provided professional guidance and tracked both individual and team performance. In the afternoon, the teams presented their solutions to a jury composed of mentors, alumni, and coordinators: Borsos András, Dimény-Varga Ábel, Kolozsi Gergő, Pásztor Kende, Szekernyés Péter, and Dr. Levente Szász, GTK coordinator.
Following the presentations, a Q&A session took place where jury members asked questions related to the teams’ solutions and presentations. This was followed by a general feedback session highlighting strengths and areas for improvement. Later in the day, each team received a personalized feedback session from their mentor, with in-depth and constructive insights.
Saturday concluded with a financial workshop led by alumni members Pásztor Kende and Borsos András. Closely tied to the case study solved earlier that day, the session allowed participants to deepen their financial knowledge through practical examples. The evening wrapped up with a shared dinner and leisure time.
Sunday’s schedule followed a similar structure: the students solved a new three-hour English-language case study in the same teams. Before the official presentation and feedback session, a surprise activity was introduced: teams had the opportunity to present a trial version of their solution to their mentor, receiving final feedback and suggestions to improve before the actual jury presentation. This allowed them to step into the official round with more confidence and preparation.
The camp was officially closed by Székely Evelin, managing director of GTK, who thanked the students for their outstanding work and acknowledged the invaluable contributions of the mentors, alumni, and coordinators to the participants’ development.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks once again to Borsos András, Dimény-Varga Ábel, Kolozsi Gergő, Pásztor Kende, Szekernyés Péter, and Dr. Levente Szász for their dedication and support!
