Victory in two rounds at the most prestigious MBA-level case competition in Canada!
Our team reached two victories in the group stage of the 43rd edition of the world-class master’s and MBA-level case competition organized by Concordia University’s John Molson School of Business, between the January 5 and 10, 2025. The Hungarian line of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration at Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and the GTK Business Consulting Club was represented by Kende-Ferenc Pásztor, Evelin-Beáta Székely, Péter Szekernyés, and Dóra Szőke, all second-year master’s students in Business management.
The 30 participating teams were divided into five divisions, each consisting of six teams. The teams had four days to compete against one another, during which they solved five case studies within timeframes of 3, 2.5, and 1.5 hours, having no internet access. The cases were provided by companies such as Air Canada, Nike, Peloton, Dabur, and the nonprofit organization ChangeMakers. The team from Babeș-Bolyai University successfully defeated their opponents in two rounds, finishing fourth in their division overall. At the end of the competition, the Canadian HEC Montréal team claimed the top spot on the podium.
The team’s preparation was coordinated by Dr. Levente Szász, Dr. Lehel Györfy, Dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz, and PhD candidate Réka Izsák. Congratulations to the team for their outstanding performance!
