Participation at the 15th National Case Study Competition, Budapest

On May 8-10, 2014 the 15th National Case Study Competition was held in Budapest, organized by the Corvinus University of Budapest and the EVK College for Advanced Studies. The Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the Babeș–Bolyai University was represented by the team Azure, with the following members: Ábrahám Krisztina, Benkő Zsolt, Demeter Zselyke and Kiss Alpár, all of them being members of the GTK – Business Consulting Club.

The 15 participating teams have been distributed into 3 preliminary groups. This year’s case study concerned a winery from Szekszárd, with the objectives to increase the value of the company and the popularity of high quality wines among Hungarian consumers. The teams had 16 hours to elaborate the solutions. The preliminary round took place in the conference rooms of the hotel where the participants were hosted. The three teams qualified in the final held their presentations in the auditorium of Corvinus University of Budapest.

The competition has been won by the team of the Corvinus University of Budapest, the Technical University of Budapest finished on the second place, while the third place has been occupied by the Central European University. The team from Cluj-Napoca has not managed to qualify in the final of the competition, ranking second in the groups stages. After the evaluation of each team the closing dinner took place, on which the participants had the opportunity to have a discussion with the members of the jury and the members of other competing teams.
