Between February 24-26, 2018 the 17th Tímár László Case Competition was organized at the University of Pannonia, in Veszprém, Hungary. On the competition, 16 teams have competed with each other representing the host university and other invited universities. The first place of the competition was taken by the team from Cluj-Napoca who received two special awards as well for the trickiest and the most promising solution.

The team from Cluj-Napoca was composed of four students representing the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration of the Babeș-Bolyai University and the GTK Business Consulting Club, a professional college within the university. Team members were Griz Zsuzsanna (Management, 2nd year), Kozma Nóra (Management, 1st year), Molnár Eszter (Business Informatics, 1st year) and Virágh Tihamér (Business Management, MSc, 1st year).

The case study for the event was provided by the ‘cegetveszek.hu’ online platform. The participants had to take the role of investors for company acquisitions and in the first three hours had to choose one from the eight available target companies. In the remaining 21 hours, each team had to develop a business plan for the purchase of the chosen company.

On the following day, a meeting took place between each team and the potential real investors, during which the members had to convince the jury to invest in their company and business plan.

The team from Cluj-Napoca representing the GTK Business Consulting Club has won the first place of the competition. Congratulations to the team for achieving this outstanding result!
