A Day Behind the Scenes at Autonet
As a university student, the most valuable experience is seeing in practice what you have so far only known in theory. Thanks to the shadowing program of the Business Consulting Club (GTK), the two of us, Gergely Péter and Szász-Péter Ádám, had the good fortune to spend a full and extremely intensive day at Autonet Import’s headquarters in Satu Mare on March 16, 2026.
We started the day right in the thick of things, and it was a tremendous experience from the very first moments. We had the opportunity to speak personally with Csehi Árpád, the company’s managing director, who spoke to us very candidly about the strategic challenges of corporate management and top-level decision-making. Following this, the heads of key departments — finance, marketing, and HR — also made time for us. It was a pleasure to feel the openness and helpfulness with which they welcomed us: they not only gave us a glimpse into the company’s operations, but genuinely sat down to talk with us and shared the most valuable practical experience they had accumulated over the years.
After this strategic and management-level overview, our mentor, Surányi Balázs, guided us into his own field of expertise — sales and promotion. Balázs truly spared no time and fully involved us in his daily work. He was very natural and honest in showing us not only the appealing sides of the profession but also its everyday challenges, and he gave us practical tips that we will certainly be able to use in the future.
After thoroughly getting to know the office and administrative side, it was time for implementation: we were given a tour of the logistics center. It was fantastic to follow the supply chain step by step in practice, from the arrival and sorting of orders all the way to delivery — to see this enormous yet precisely coordinated machine in action.
This intensive and content-rich day was ultimately crowned with a relaxed lunch in a wonderful atmosphere. We are deeply grateful to the Autonet team and to Balázs for this fantastic opportunity! We learned a great deal, and this experience helped us a lot in finally seeing the theories we had heard at university and at GTK actually working in a real market environment.
