Advanced finance course held by dr. Jácint Juhász

Second-year GTK students attended a three-session advanced finance course led by dr. Jácint Juhász.

On 19 November, the second-year students of the GTK participated in the first advanced financial training, held by Jácint Juhász. Building on their existing financial knowledge, the students learned how to prepare a detailed revenue plan, calculate energy costs and decide whether a project is profitable or not. It was an interactive training, where everyone calculated and planned on their own devices. The students had the possibility to ask questions, which opened up new topics from which everyone learned a lot.

On 17th December 2022, the second-year students attended the second advanced finance course, held by Dr. Jácint Juhász. In the first half of the event, the students recalled and reviewed what they had learned in the last training. They mainly focused on the detailed breakdown of the parameters and refined the accuracy of the parameters, taking into account various factors. Then, they learned and deepened their knowledge about the various financial and data analysis functions of the Excel, using practical examples. Examples included forecasting, using the Goal Seek function, data tables, and finally creating different scenarios.

On 30 March 2023, the second-year students attended the last session of the training series, during which the knowledge acquired in the first semester was expanded. In the first half of the training, they learned about Monte Carlo simulation, which extended their knowledge of Histogram charts, which show the occurrence and accumulation of certain values. In the remaining time they discussed the lognormal distribution in detail. Within this, the construction of the Correlation Matrix and the Cholesky Matrix were discussed.

We would like to thank dr. Jácint Juhász for the interactive training!
