Bronze medal at Rotterdam Business School International Case Competition
From October 1-2, 2026, the Rotterdam International Case Competition (RICC 2026), organized by Rotterdam Business School, took place with 12 university teams participating to test their knowledge.
The student team from the Hungarian line of study, representing the Faculty of Economics and Business administration of Babeș-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca and GTK, who were competing in their very first international case competition, advanced to the finals with an outstanding performance and secured 3rd place overall in the prestigious international field.
The members of the bronze-medalist team from Cluj-Napoca were Balázs-Krisztián Faluvégi (Business Information Systems, 2nd year), Benjámin Farkas (Business Information Systems, 2nd year), Victor Pulbere (Management, 3rd year), and Kristóf Zolcsak (Business Information Systems, 2nd year).
On both days, the team had to solve a complex, real-world business case study, and subsequently present and defend their proposals before a panel of industry experts.
In the first round, the students from Cluj finished top of their group within their division with a solution tailored to the strategic challenges of the Canadian 100 Kellogg Lane entertainment, experience and event complex. In the second round, they finished 2nd in their division after presenting a business strategy developed for TrueFirms, a B2B matchmaking and rating platform.
Thanks to their high-quality performance across both rounds, the Cluj team secured an overall 2nd place in their division, earning their spot in Friday’s grand finale, where they claimed 3rd place following the final presentations.
The team was coached by Dr. Levente Szász, Dr. Lehel-Zoltán Györfy, Dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz, PhD candidate Réka Izsák, and Tamás Zoványi, who also accompanied the team and supported their work as a mentor.
Heartfelt congratulations to the team on this wonderful international success!
