Communication training
During the second semester the GTK students took part in the traditional communication training held by Magor Kádár.
On March 20, 2022, GTK students attended this semester’s first communication course, which was held by dr. Kádár Magor. This time the students got acquainted with nonverbal communication and its parts, on this occasion they analysed several videos and pictures, which highlighted how important it is, besides what you say, how you communicate with your body and how important the right gestures, facial expressions and body language are. For example, they learned how a person can guess from images what the person might be feeling or how can you recognize if the audience is paying attention. The students have learnt that nonverbal communication also includes how we use space as a speaker, what our appearance is like and who we communicate with at what distance. On top of all this, they talked about the communication with posture and facial expressions.
On 3 April 2023, GTK students attended the second communication training of the semester, also held by dr. Magor Kádár. The main topic of the training was the analysis of the first semester’s industry presentation. During the training, each student had to identify two presentation elements that he/she will improve in the second semester industry presentation. The training ended with a group work session in which the students presented their ideas on the use of space, speaking style, posture and presentation situation.
On 14 May, the penultimate session of the GTK students’ communication training series took place. On this occasion, with the help of Kinga Krippán, the students focused on speaking technique by performing different breathing exercises, followed by articulation and voice production. The students had to solve different creative tasks to improve their speaking technique. We would like to thank Kinga for the meaningful training!
The last communication training of the year took place on 22 May 2023 with Dr. Magor Kádár. The training was about refining the presentation technique, which was a good opportunity to practice what has already been learnt, and to learn new details to pay attention to during a presentation. After watching animated videos, they discussed together what makes a good supporting material and concluded with useful tips on how to overcome stress before and during a presentation.
We would like to thank Dr. Kádár Magor for the extremely useful trainings!
