CSR strategies of large companies
On 16 January, 2014 the GTK members had the opportunity to participate on a training dealing with the topic of corporate social responsibility. The special guest was Dr. Radácsi László, scientific collaboratort of the Budapest Business School, and the founder and current leader of SmartLab Consulting Ltd. from Budapest. His presentation focused on the social responsibility strategies of large companies.
During the lecture Radácsi László spoke generally about CSR, and tried to define its concept together with the participants. He emphasized that companies, in addition to focusing on the produced outputs, should also pay attention to the so called outcomes, which represent all the effects on the stakeholders of the company. He presented the dual perception of the media about the CSR: on one hand, these are seen as activities that help the progress of the society, while on the other hand, CSR is viewed as just another way for companies to advertise their products.
As the last topic of the event Radácsi László presenteda practical example for the correct way to conduct social responsibility activities at a company.
We would also like to grab this opportunity to express our gratitude to our invited lecturer for the exceptional course and the useful examples.
