Cultural programme

On Monday, November 9th, the GTK members had the opportunity to go to the Hungarian Theater of Cluj-Napoca, where they watched the performance called Macbeth, directed by Silviu Purcărete, which focuses on the examination and exposure of a brutalized society prone to the absurd. On the following evening, the students participated in a debriefing discussion, which was led by dr. István Berszán and an actress from the play, Melinda Kántor. The members discussed questions in connection with the story of Macbett’s development, which might be related to the desire for power and selfishness, since the play represents confronting the impossible and reality at the same time. At the end, the students were asked whether they would dare to tear down the walls built around leaders, whether they have the courage to face the system, and whether they are flexible enough to notice when their environment requires change.

We would like to thank dr. István Berszán and Melinda Kántor for the insightful discussion!
