First and third place at the National Controlling Case Study Competition!

Two teams made up of active and alumni GTK members took first and third place in the finals of the National Controlling Case Study Competition. The first place on the podium went to the OFFICE team (Zsófia Bánffy (Finance and Banking, 3rd year.), Márk-Andrei Dinea (Finance and Banking, 3rd year.), Balázs Gergely (Management, 3rd year.), and Péter Zsombori (Management, 3rd year.). Third place went to the OPAL Consult team (Bereczki-Orbán Péter (Economic Informatics 2nd year), Daczó Zsolt Tamás (Management 2nd year), Fazakas Boglárka (Economic Informatics 1st year), and Kolozsi Gergő (Marketing 2nd year).

The final of the competition was held on 1 March 2024 in the main building of KPMG in Budapest. The competition was organized by the Lámfalussy Sándor Organisation of the Faculty of Finance and Accounting of the Budapest University of Economics and Business Administration.

This year’s case study was provided by msg Plaut Hungary KFT. The teams had to find a solution to msg Plaut’s problem based on real events, i.e. what should the consultancy firm do if it has started a project that has been generating losses for months and cannot get rid of it because of the contract.

The coaches of the Cluj team were Dr. Lehel-Zoltán Györfy, Dr. Levente Szász and Dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz.
