First place at the National Finance Case Study Competition in 2018

Between February 2-4, 2018 the XVI. National Finance Case Study Competition was organized  by the Faculty of Economics of the Széchenyi István University and the Kautz Gyula College for Advanced Studies. The competition took place in Győr, Hungary.
The GTK Business Consulting Club was represented by team Synergy,  composed of Bálint Alexandra Teodóra, Costiniuc Norbert-Dániel, Deák Levente, and Géger Gyopár. Altogether ten teams representing different business schools took part in the competition.
The competitors had 11 hours at their disposal to solve the case study given by Mikolasek, a Hungarian company operating in the construction industry. The students had the task to forecast the income statement and the balance sheet of the company, compute financial ratios, analyze the liquidity of the company and estimate possible increases in employee wages.
The presentations of the competing teams were evaluated by a jury composed of top managers from different companies. Based on the jury’s decision the competition in 2018 has been won by the team from Cluj-Napoca. This result represents the 11th podium placement of our team in this competition without interruption, and the second consecutive year in which the team from Cluj-Napoca wins the first place of the competition.
