First prize at the PRMIA Risk Management case competition’s online regional final
On the 26th of March, 2021 team Synergy Consulting, representing Babeș-Bolyai University and the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (3 of them were GTK members), won the first prize at the PRMIA Risk Management case competition’s online regional final. This victory also means that the team from Cluj-Napoca will represent the region in the international finals, also taking place online.
The first task of competing teams was to create an executive summary that analyzes National Australia Bank’s risk management practices and gives solution to imminent problems. After the preliminary round three teams advanced to the regional finals, where in addition to presenting their solution in front of a panel of professionals, they also had to compile a functional interactive performance- and risk management dashboard in MATLAB.
The winning team was composed by Barabási Tamás (Business management masters, 1st year) Borsos András (Corporate Financial Management masters, 1st year), Breier Andrea (Corporate Financial Management masters, 1st year) and Jakó Zsolt (Corporate Financial Management masters, 1st year). The two other competing teams represented the Budapest University of Technology and Economics and Széchényi István University.
