Grand Final at the international case competition of the Norwegian School of Economics
Between the 7th and 11th of October, 2019 the Norwegian School of Economics in Bergen hosted the NHH Case Competition. 12 teams from 4 continents participated in the event. The team representing the Babeș-Bolyai University and the GTK – Business Consulting Club from Cluj-Napoca was also invited to the competition. Members of Team Cluj-Napoca: Barabási Tamás, Borsos András, Jakó Zsolt and Molnár Eszter. The case solved by the competing teams was provided by Coop Norge, a Norwegian cooperative retail company. The participating teams had 24 hours to come up with a long-term strategy for the company by 2030.
Competing teams were grouped by the organizers into three different semifinals of four teams each, the best team in each group qualifying to the final round of the competition. Team GTK has competed in the same group with the teams representing the BI Norwegian Business School, City University of Hong Kong and the hosting university’s team from Bergen. The team from Cluj-Napoca won the semifinals, and succeeded to qualify to the grand final. The two other finalist teams were the ones representing the Georgetown University and the University of Technology Sydney, who later won the competition.
For the team representing the GTK – Business Consulting Club from Cluj-Napoca the competition was a great opportunity to compete with the world’s leading universities’. Congratulations to Team GTK for their excellent performance!
