GTK members participating in a two-day team-building
On 27-28 October 2023, the members of GTK had the chance to participate in a two-day team-building training. The training was a great opportunity for the members to get to know each other better, as new junior members joined the GTK this year and getting to know each other well is the most important thing before working together.
The training was delivered by Csaba Rácz, Managing Director and Head Trainer of Siegel Eastern Europe. The training was mainly based on interactive exercises and games, but a lot of new theoretical knowledge was gained as well. The exercises focused on teamwork and how to work together as a team in the most efficient way.
The most prominent theme of the training was the four personality types, which are defined by where a person is located on the introvert-extrovert and rational-emotional coordinate system. The most practical task of the first day was when the GTK students worked in groups based on their personality types (i.e. colors: red, blue, yellow, green) and solve a task to build the longest possible bridge in one hour using paper and tape. Meanwhile, the trainer recorded videos of the activity, which could be watched afterwards, and helped to observe the characteristics of the different personality types.
The second day focused on communication and conflict management. The task of the day was to solve a concrete conflict situation, in which the members form a team in a competition, on the morning of which part of the team withdraws from taking the stage. They had to solve this problem in 15 minutes, during which the students achieved a very impressive result.
In addition, there was also a discussion on how to give constructive feedback to the partner, as well as motivational and demotivational factors that the members had to share with each other in order to make the work more effective in the future.
By the end of the two days of training, the GTK members had got to know each other much better and had developed a richer knowledge of how to work in a team to work effectively.
We would like to thank Csaba Rácz for the meaningful and interactive training!
