GTK students reach the second place in division at the international case study competition of the Maastricht University
As an excellent result, the team of students representing the Babeș-Bolyai University, Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and the GTK Business Consulting Club won the second place in the 24 hours challenge of the management case competition organized by the Maastricht University in the Netherlands. 16 student teams attended at this competition, representing prestigious universities worldwide, from four continents. Our students’ division was won by the team representing University of Florida, the winner of the whole competition became the team representing the Canadian Queen’s University.
International Case Competition @ Maastricht was organized in the 28th of April – 4th of May, 2019at the School of Business and Economics faculty of Maastricht University, and it consisted of two rounds of 3 hours and a round of 24 hours of case solving (with the last round results being considered with higher share).
The GTK team formed by Barabási Tamás (Business Information Systems, 2nd year), Jakó Zsolt (Management, 2nd year), Kelemen Kincső (Business Information Systems, 3rd year), respectively Pádár Zsuzsanna (Finance and Banking, 3rd year) had an increasing performance during the competition, reaching rank 4 and 3 in the short rounds and an excellent rank 2 in the 24 hours case round.
The winner of the competition was the team of Queen’s University, the second became the University of Florida, the third was the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and the fourth place went to the Georgetown University from Washington DC.
