GTK students took part in a social responsibility camp thanks to Multinr and Diakónia
Last weekend, from 24 to 26 March, the students of the GTK Business Consulting Club had the opportunity to participate in a CSR camp in Sfântu Gheorghe and Kőröspatak with the financial and professional support of Multinr and the Diakonia Christian Foundation. During the weekend, the students took part in discussions, presentations and company visits that convinced them that it is worthwhile to do business and create value in Romania. During the weekend in Kőröspatak, the GTK students were also able to gain insight into the lives of children living in extreme poverty, who will be supported by further fundraising events organised by the GTK in the second semester.
On the first day of the camp, the students first visited Multinr, a company from the printing industry. At the beginning of the visit, Zoltán Bokor-Tóth, Managing Director and owner of the company, presented the history of the firm and then showed the participants around the production workstations. The students were given an insight into the world of advertising stand production. After the visit to Multinr, the GTK students visited the offices of Gnome Design, which were presented by Béla Bihari, the company’s Managing Director. Among other things, the students learned about the concept of a passive office building. After the two company visits, the GTK team headed to the Diakónia campsite in Kőröspatak.
In the first half of the Saturday day, the StartUp HUB in Sfântu Gheorghe hosted further panel discussions. In the first half of the meeting, Szilárd Kelemen, StartUp HUB staff member, introduced the organisation. Afterwards, the Junior Business Club (JBC) of Sfântu Gheorghe was introduced to the audience by Zsolt Karácsony, President of JBC. After the presentation of the Startup HUB and the Junior Business Club, the GTK was also presented by alumni members Krisztina Bokor-Tóth and Noémi Székely. After the presentation of the organisations, the GTK members had the opportunity to listen to presentations and talk to local leaders. In the panel discussions Levente Csenteri, CEO of Combridge, Krisztina Berszány, Executive Assistant of Bertis Group, László Debreczeni, CEO of Cont Exp, Árpád Bartók, owner of Thermo Control and GTK alumni member, Boróka Bíró took part.
After the professional presentations and discussions, GTK students had the chance to visit the Sepsi OSK Arena. After the visit, the GTK students travelled to Sânsimion, where they visited the Csíki Csipsz and the Csíki Csipsz Factory.
On the last day of the camp, the students listened to a lecture by Péter Makkai, Pastor and State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection. The camp was concluded with a summary and evaluation by Zoltán Bokor-Tóth (Multinr) and Vera Torma (Diakónia – KinderEd family support programme). On the way home, the GTK students had the opportunity to visit children living in extreme poverty, for whom further fundraising events will be organised in the second half of the year.
All in all, the GTK students had a fantastic and eventful weekend, during which they had the opportunity to learn about local economic and social responsibility life. Camps of this type play a very important role in the development of students’ personalities and in educating them to be socially responsible.
Many thanks to Multinr and the Diakónia – KinderEd family support programme for the opportunity and support!
