I. place at the 15th Tímár László Case Competition
February 20-22, 2016, marked the 15th Tímár László Case Competition in Veszprém. Fittingly, 15 teams participated. The locals compared their knowledge with the invited teams. The first place of the podium was taken by the team from Cluj-Napoca, just as in the previous year. Also notable, that the best presenter title was given to one of the members of the team, Gábor Kerekes.
The team of 2016 consisted of students of the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration and also members of the GTK Business Consulting Club. Namely: Levente Deák (Finance and Banking, 2nd year), Réka Fekete (Management and Accounting, 3rd year), Attila Fodor (Finance and Banking, 2nd year) and Gábor Kerekes (Management and Accounting, 3rd year).
The case study the teams had to solve was about a company called GyógyIT Zrt. They faced a labor market problem, more specifically the manpower shortage facing the whole ICT segment. The case tasked the teams with increasing the employee number in this division of the company in the short-term.
In the 24 hours available, teams had to develop their solutions for GyógyIT and present the next day (in 4 groups) in front of jury, that consisted of the company’s management and professors. Finalists were to present their solutions again for the complete jury that afternoon.
The GTK Business Consulting Club team earned the first place in the XV. Tímár László Case Competition. During the results announcements, the organizers thanked and commemorated László Tímár. Present family members also made speeches, a nice gesture on behalf of the organizers.
