Management shadowing programs in the GTK – Business Consulting Club

The Management Shadowing is one of the basic programs of the BCC where members have the opportunity to spend one entire day as the “shadow” of a manager, observing his/her daily activities. The program can be considered as a unique initiative aiming to introduce students to the way theory is transferred into practice. In the first semester of the 2012/2013 academic year, eight junior BCC members had the opportunity to visit four companies:

  • Ábrán Csilla and Dombi Tünde visited Tipo Holding, a printing company. Cserháti Csaba, the controlling manager of the company, presented the manufacturing processes of the company, spoke about the innovation possibilities at Tipo Holding, and introduced students to the issues of intra-holding company mergers.
  • Székely Rita and Czirják Renáta had spent a day at MarsoRom, in Târgu Mureş, a company specialized in tire distribution. Laczkó Dénes and Rácz Béla managers presented how the company is operating and emphasised the importance of being informed both about the external market and the internal environemnt in order to make appropriate decisions.
  • Kovács Anita and Német Hunor had the possibility to observe the activities of Péter Árpád, regional manager of Romchemicals, a company specialized in the trading of chemicals and industrial cleaning products. BCC members learned about the storage and trading processes of the company.
  • Guttmann Csongor and Kiss Alpár spent a day in Satu Mare with Kerezsi Miklós, owner and managing director of East Consulting. Mr Kerezsi introduced the students into the daily operations and communication processes of the company, putting a special emphasis on strategic planning and evaluation of company activities.
