Participation at the K&H Student Cup 2012 competition

Between the 30th of October and 30th of November 2012 the on-line bank simulation competition “K&H Student Cup 2012” was organized by the K&H Group in Hungary. Students from business universities who participated at the competition were offered the possibility to compare their skills and knowledge in strategic decision-making in the field of banking and insurance.

The competition offered a realistic simulation of a financial institution, in which teams formed by three students took the roles of senior managers, having the task of annual strategic decision-making with the aim to maximize the share price of the bank. The teams had to fill complex decision-reports containing information regarding new product introduction, bond issuance, dividends payment, etc.

In the on-line qualification round each 6 team formed one market and the winner of each market had the chance to take part in the on-line semifinal round. In the semifinals, after the reorganization of the winning teams into new markets, they had to complete against each other with the best 10 teams getting further into the final round of the competition.

The Babeş-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca was represented by 3 teams in the qualifications, two of them having 1 BCC member each. The High Cube team, including BCC member Szőcs Kinga Beáta, and Gáspár Barna Szabolcs and Imrea Beáta, reached to the semifinal. BCC member Rákoczi Roland had also participated in the competition.
