Second place and special prize in Miskolc – Our members achieved outstanding results

Between March 19-20, 2026, the “Susánszky János” Case Study Solving Memorial Competition was held in Miskolc, where our members performed exceptionally well, earning second place and a special prize. The special prize was awarded for the most professional and best-structured presentation.

Representing the Department of Economics and Business Administration in Hungarian Language of Babeș–Bolyai University and the GTK Business Consulting Club, the Catalyst Consulting team participated in the competition. The team members were: Gábor Bukur (Finance and Banking, 1st year), Gergő Kolozsi (Data-Driven Management, Master’s, 1st year), Ádám Szász-Péter (Business Information Systems, 1st year), and Kristóf Zolcsák (Business Information Systems, 1st year).

During the competition, our team competed against students from several Hungarian universities. The case study was provided by the team of the Promotions.hu news portal, operated by Promotions Media Kft. Participants had 9.5 hours to develop their solutions.

The task focused on increasing traffic and strengthening both internal and external trust through the conscious application of dual capabilities and the development of a stable partner network.

Our members’ solution was based on a two-pillar strategy: the Exploitation pillar focused on the efficient use of existing resources and trust-building, while the Exploration pillar aimed at discovering new directions, including the introduction of in-depth analytical articles, expansion to new platforms, and consistent news portal positioning.

The jury consisted of business professionals, including the company’s owner. The team’s performance was evaluated as high-quality, resulting in Catalyst Consulting achieving second place.

In addition, the team received a special prize for the most well-structured and professional presentation.

The team was mentored by Dr. Lehel-Zoltán Györfy, Dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz, and Dr. Levente Szász.

Congratulations to our members on their outstanding achievements!
