Second place in the division achieved by our members at the Rotterdam International Case Competition Bootcamp!
Between October 1-2, 2025, the Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences organized the Rotterdam International Case Competition Bootcamp, where 12 teams from 7 universities, representing 6 countries, competed to showcase their knowledge and skills.
The team representing the Department of Economics and Business Administration in Hungarian Language at Babeș-Bolyai University, Cluj-Napoca, and the GTK Business Consulting Club achieved an outstanding performance, finishing second in both the first and second group rounds, and earning 16 points, equal to the Erasmus University team. Erasmus University ultimately advanced to the final, having placed first in the second round, and went on to win the competition.
The Cluj-Napoca team members were Balázs Burkhardt (Business Informatics, 2nd year), Adél Izsák (Finance and Banking, 2nd year), Benedek Lázár (Finance and Banking, 2nd year), and Izolda Toth (Management, 2nd year).
During the competition, the team had to solve two case studies – one 4-hour and one 3-hour case: in the first round, they were asked to propose a strategy for a Dutch company producing pellets from sustainable materials, while in the second round, they developed recommendations for a Canadian restaurant and event booking platform to achieve profitability.
In the group rounds, the BBU and GTK team competed against the Dutch Erasmus University and two teams from the host institution, Rotterdam University, finishing second in both cases.
The team’s coaches were Dr. Levente Szász, Dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz, Dr. Lehel Györfy, and Réka Izsák.
Congratulations to the team!
