Victory and second place in Budapest at the most prestigious Hungarian-language case study competition!

Our active and alumni members achieved both a victory and a second-place finish at this year’s most prestigious Hungarian-language case study competition in the Carpathian Basin, the National Case Study Competition (OEV). The 11-team final of the competition took place between 25–28 April 2026 at Corvinus University of Budapest. Three teams from the Department of Economics and Business Administration in Hungarian Language at Babeș-Bolyai University successfully qualified for the final from among more than fifty applying teams. In the end, one of our teams won the competition, while another secured second place.

Members of the winning Cluj team: Bánffy Zsófia (Data-Driven Management, 2nd year), Bugár Anna (Data-Driven Management, 2nd year), Kovács Kata (Data-Driven Management, 2nd year), and Lőrinczi Réka (Business and Financial Data, 2nd year), all alumni members of GTK.

Members of the second-place Cluj team: Dénes Mária (Digital Marketing, 1st year), Dimény-Varga Ábel (Data-Driven Management, 1st year), Kolozsi Gergő (Data-Driven Management, 1st year), and Tófalvi Krisztián (Data-Driven Management, 1st year), all alumni members of GTK.

Members of the third Cluj team that reached the national final: Forró Gellért (Finance and Banking, 3rd year), Ladó Viktória (Finance and Banking, 2nd year), Tóth Izolda (Management, 2nd year), and Zoványi Tamás (Finance and Banking, 3rd year), active and alumni GTK members.

The teams were coached by Dr. Lehel Györfy, Dr. Béla-Gergely Rácz, and Dr. Levente Szász.

The company providing the case for the final was one of the most significant cultural companies in Central Europe, Libri-Bookline Zrt. The competing teams had to provide well-founded and feasible solutions to two strategic challenges: first, developing a concept for introducing a non-book product category, and second, preparing a comprehensive strategic proposal for the geographical and business expansion of the Libri bookstore network.

Congratulations to our students on their outstanding performance!
